What are the Russian equivalents of American over the counter medicines?

It can be hard to find the specific brands that you are used to. Russia also has a tendency to use non branded things in pure form in glass bottles. They can be equally effective!

Tylenol, Advil  =  Nurofen, Tzitramon

Neosporin       = “zelenka,” or just regular brown iodine (“yod”) in a glass jar

Acne creams   = salicylic acid 2% in a glass jar as an alcohol solution or as a cream + zinc.

Nyquil            = Valerian pills or tea

Listerine         = They have it now!
